That Christmas cactus is actually older than I am -- hard to believe, I know. It once belonged to my mother's aunt. The picture doesn't show it, but we've also got a smaller Christmas cactus (which is also blooming) which was a gift from Jeanne, a cast mate from our first Frost Fire show.
Susan, I am the worst when it comes to house plants, but I have two Christmas Cacti. Listening to a garden show a number of years ago, they said to put the plants outside on a patio or deck in the summer in a semi shaded area. I have done this every year since and, come fall, I bring them in and within a week they burst into the most beautiful flowers you've ever seen. Then about February, they bloom again. It makes me look like I know what I'm doing. Patti
