St. Maarten Vacation, Day 1

Despite the best efforts of the winter weather, we made it from Bismarck, North Dakota, to Dallas, Texas, yesterday--and from Dallas to Simpson Bay, St. Maarten, today. (Suzanna's itinerary took her from Nashville, Tennessee to New York City, New York, and then to here.)

Abigail lives in nearby Cupecoy, St. Maarten, where she attends medical school. She rented a car for the week and picked up Suzanna when she arrived. They returned to get Susan, Hillary, and me when we arrived. However, our checked bags did not make the trip from Dallas to St. Maarten ... so Abigail took us to (also nearby) Philipsburg to shop for some overnight necessaries and then back to her apartment to eat charcuterie and play card games in her dining room all evening.

It is so great to be reunited with all our daughters again!

Abigail's cute apartment-sized Christmas tree! Spoiler: Some of those gifts are new books, which are a traditional Christmas Eve gift in our family. The idea is to put on our new Christmas pajamas and snuggle in to read our new books while waiting for Santa Claus to arrive.
