Eggs-travaganza

High-tech egg decorating method

Suzanna is today's guest blogger:

Today we decorated eggs. Each person got eight eggs. Dad decided to work on the computer instead. My little sister Hillary had stains all over her hands, and her shirt probably got stained--I don't know yet. There were lots of colors of dye, and there was paint! I mean, who puts paint in an egg dye kit?! Hillary also spilled it on the table--what a mess! It almost stained the table, too. It was very eggs-citing and fun.

See Hillary's rabbit whiskers on her cheeks? They're left over from this morning's Easter parade.

Abigail concentrates.

Suzanna worries about her egg--will she drop it?!

The girls check on the progress of Abigail's eggs (two are soaking at once).

  1. This was actually Hillary's second egg-dying event of this Easter season. She got to take 3 hard-boiled eggs to Kindergarten on Thursday and the class dyed eggs. I'm not sure I'd want to dye eggs with 20 energetic and enthusiastic (not to mention slightly accident prone) 5/6-year-olds, but thank you to Mrs. L & Mrs. N for providing that fun! (Hillary came home with 4 eggs--one of her classmates was generous...)

  2. Love the multi colored fingers on Hillary in the last photo! Excellent job telling the story Suzanna. I agree, why do they put paint in an egg dying kit? I also thought the color of the dye in the mug in front of Hillary was very interesting. (When seen at 'close up' view.) Hmmm, based on your experience with Joseph, what color would you call that?

  3. Well, when we first started, I would have called that color "yellow." Then, Hillary got "creative" and decided to add some green to it...could one perhaps call it "neon puce?"
