Susan's grandma Laura will turn 91 years old on Saturday (remember her 90th birthday?). However, we won't be around that day to celebrate with her and other family members; we'll be at a Norwegian language and cultural camp at Lake Metigoshe, ND (more details on that in upcoming days) through the weekend. So we had a mini-party of our own with Laura this afternoon.
Today is Waffle Cone Wednesday at TCBY, so we stopped there to pick up some frozen yogurt to take to Laura at her nursing home. Susan's dad Roger (Laura's son) met us there, and we all sat in Laura's room visiting, eating our treats, and dripping our melting treats all over Laura's floor. It was late enough in the afternoon that, by the time we had finished eating our cones, it was almost time for Laura to go for supper! But she said that she didn't mind having had her dessert before the meal.
Hillary, Abigail, and Suzanna surround their great-grandmother. Laura looks a bit overcome by the invasion of little girls!
Grandma must have enjoyed her birthday treat -- she ate all of hers and a portion of mine!
