Chicago, Day 1

I'm in Chicago!  This is my first visit to Chi-Town//Second City/The Windy City, and so far, I'm impressed.  I'm here for work to attend a conference, and I'm looking forward to learning what I'm here to learn and, later, sharing with my colleagues what I have learned.  But I'm also eager to look around the city a little bit and ooh and ahh at its fantastic downtown architecture.  Wanna see some photos?

I flew from Dickinson to Denver to Chicago, landing at O'Hare International Airport.  Kinda pretty, huh?

I'm staying at the Westin Chicago River North.  Just gotta share the nice room that I'm in . . . very comfortable.

This hotel is on the Chicago River, not far from the harbor into Lake Michigan and right in the middle of the business, shopping, and theatre district.  This view from my window looks north on Dearborn St.  The red four-story building is home to Harry Caray's Italian Steakhouse.

And here's a peek southward on Dearborn.  The House of Blues is on the left, and you can see the Chicago River to the right.

The conference begins bright and early tomorrow morning, but I should have time a few evenings this week to venture into the city and see the sights.  Stay tuned for more photos!
