Youth Quaker

After church at 8:00 A.M., I had to shuttle Abigail and Hillary off to the West River Community Center for a swim meet while Susan stayed behind to carry out her duties as Sunday school director.  She joined us later to work in the concessions stand all day while I stayed in the swimming pool area and kept track of the girls' times in the events booklet.

And where was Suzanna during all this, you may wonder?  Well, I'll tell you:

She spent the weekend in Billings, MT for a church-sponsored youth gathering.  She and several other junior high students from our church left town Friday early afternoon to attend Youth Quake, a youth ministry event that, at their site, was called Billings Quake Zone.  They got back late this afternoon, and Suzanna was excited and had lots of stories to share!

The whole schedule of events is here, but some of the highlights to Suzanna were
  • hearing concert performances by the Christian rock band Bread of Stone
  • carrying out a service project at Zoo Montana (helping clean office spaces) and then getting to tour the zoo exhibits
  • meeting kids from other cities and making new friends while interacting during group activities
We're glad that she had a good time, and we felt comfortable sending her away for a weekend spent at a church event . . . but we're glad to have her home again.  She may be growing up, but she's still our little girl--so there!

  1. I don't think we did any traveling with our youth group until we were in high school. I'm glad they had a good time, and she is already excited for next year!
